Hey there people. My name's Cai and I guess I'm a relatively new vaper. I picked it up around Christmastime - got sucked in by all the flavor choices at a local smoke shop when I went in to pick up cigars. I still smoke cigarettes and cigars, but at a much reduced amount (half a pack a day to about 3/4 cigs, less when I'm not at work). I honestly haven't found vaping to be a viable replacement when I REALLY want a cigarette, but it does cut down the amount of cravings. I like it as an alternative to smoking a cigarette, rather than as a replacement to one.

    So, yeah. Hi. :D

Hey there, welcome to the group! And yea man that is a perfectly fine way to go, I had to keep telling myself that it is totally ok to smoke a few real cigs per day or i'd freak out lol. In the end I ended up just forgetting to light up because my vape was right there at all times.

I tried to make sure that I always had teh vape there at crucial times such as when I woke up, after meals, etc. and then just smoke a few during the day and that really helped train me to look forward to the vape rather than the cigs.

Quick question though, are you happy with your current flavor or still looking for the perfect "all day vape", and what nicotine strength are you using atm?

When i first started out I ended up having to go with a higher PG and nicotine juice because it wasn't as satisfying of a smoking experience (it didn't feel like a cig when i inhaled with lower PG/Nicotine) so I kept smoke more cigs than I wanted to.

I go through a variety of flavors but mostly I use a combo of RY-4 and clove flavor as my standard. There is no such thing for me as a flavor that can completely match the cig experience (the feel and temperature of the smoke is different than that of the vapor, even if you get a flavor match) but my clove mix at least comes close. The juice has a 1.8 nic content.

The hardest thing for me to give up about smoking is the side benefits, honestly. It's acceptable to walk away from work for 5 minutes to smoke, or to step away from your screaming kid to go sit on the porch and have one, but not so much to do those things and just stand/sit around. I've tried using the vape in those situations but it isn't the same, and that's when the cigs come out.
